Who We Are
The Old SNOTS = The Old Scotch Nosing Or Tasting Society
A group of men and women who dedicate at least one evening of each month to the appreciation of Scotland’s gift to the world–Uisghe Beatha, Water of Life, Single Malt Whisky. Founded in 2002 at MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL the core group of members has moved from Florida to the cornfields of Illinois. Still, we know of satellite groups in Virginia, Texas, Arkansas and Korea and there may be more. The Old SNOTS are not a group devoted to the analytical nature of tasting single malt whisky. Instead, we aim to enjoy it, with good friends, good food and the occasional fine cigar. For The Old SNOTS, sampling single malt whisky is both the chance to enjoy the whisky and the opportunity to laugh and commune with good friends. Slainte.

Steve: you should get paid for writing these. On the other hand, you probably shouldn’t get paid for whatever you do during the day at sleepy Scott, so it all balances out…
I am now officially retired, but go back to work Monday at the same job…as my deputy. However, now I have a moustache.
The reason you like Islays is because they are manly and not subtle. You were never good at subtle.

No, you’re right. Subtle is not in my deck. And why should it be? There’s too few years left to waste time with subtle.
I wish I could’ve made it out for your retirement. I would have loved to seen your face when you found another picture of me in the corner of your retirement certificate.

Outstanding…all those pictures of you Steve in Brian’s office left a lasting impression (maybe a mark) on everyone in the building. Was just there last month to say hi to Kim…I’m sure there are still a few left!
Great to find this site…I will definitely plan a date to join you in the near future…as long as Halpin shows up!

If I didn’t moderate, we’d be overrun with spam. Also, I believe once your approved, you’re always approved.
I’m glad you found the website, Keith. You need to let us know if you’re going to be in the area. We’ll certainly look for any excuse for an Old SNOTS gathering.
