Greetings from Korea. Just wanted to let you know I am enjoying a Yamazaki 12 yr Single Malt right now. I would characterize it as Highlandish, in the mode of Glen Morangie or Clynelish; light bodied, peppery and long finish; very smooth. I know it’s not Scotch, but pretty darned good. Now if only I can get one of those Highland Park 21s. I also tried a Balvenie 14 yr Golden Cask available at Incheon Seoul Duty Free. Gave as a gift to our hosts in China. I didn’t take tasting notes, but it was a pretty typical Speysider.

Great hearing from you, Bill. Actually, the Yamazaki Heavily Peated won the Whisky Magazine’s Best Japanese Whisky 12-20 years old. I’d not hear of the Balvenie 14 yr Golden Cask before.
